Fancy a car that will take you from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in less than five seconds? The 2006 Bentley Continental GT is part of a limited edition Diamond Series built to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Bentley. It’s one of only seven in the country.
This luxury car will do just that and is up for auction for a bargain price at Turners Prestige Auction on Saturday 13 March. New it is worth $400,000 but is estimated to sell on Saturday for $170,000 – less than half the original price.
“Bentleys are renowned for their sporting performance and craftsmanship and a limited edition Bentley is just about the best you can get.
This special edition car features an exclusive package of enhancements unique to this model, including carbon ceramic brakes, a production-first for Bentley, and new 20-inch, 14-spoke alloy wheels,” says Chris Broadhurst from Turners.
The prestige auction features 17 other vehicles with an estimated value of more than $1.4 million with individual lots ranging in value from $21,000 to $200,000.
For those keen to start the bidding at the lower end, a very smart looking 2002 Mercedes-Benz E500 worth $160,000 new, is to be sold at ‘No Reserve’. Chris says there has been a lot of interest in this stunning car.
“You can’t beat the attraction of a prestige car selling at ‘No Reserve’ – they go for an absolute steal. This brilliant silver V8 Mercedes with charcoal leather interior comes complete with sunroof and 18 inch AMG twin spoke alloys.”
But the bargain of the day could well be the 2007 Land Rover Range Rover V8. Exuding luxury, the supercharged V8 emits 400 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, so it could be equally at home on or off the beaten track, he says.
“This quality proven SUV is worth more than $200,000 new, but this weekend we expect it will go for less than half that price,” says Chris.
Other cars in the prestige line-up include:
·
* An exotic 2004 Maserati Cambrio Corsa expected to sell for between $60,000 – $70,000
* A 2006 Jaguar XJ8, expected to sell for between $35,000 – $40,000
“You don’t often see cars of this calibre going so cheap, that’s the bonus of buying at auction. Cars sold at prestige auctions often end up going for around 30 per cent less than their retail value,” says Chris.
The Prestige Car Auction will be held at Turners Auctions Penrose, Building A, corner of Leonard and Penrose Roads, Penrose, at noon Saturday, March 13. To view the full list of luxury vehicles visit www.turners.co.nz
