The good news keeps on coming for members of the New Zealand F5000 Association with confirmation that the final round of this season’s MSC F5000 Tasman Cup Revival Series will be contested at the 2010 FORMULA 1 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX meeting in Melbourne between March 25 & 28.
The classic stock-block V8-powered wings-and-slicks single-seaters were a popular addition to the support category programme at the Albert Park meeting in March this year and they will return after a summer of 30+ grids at the local Lady Wigram Trophy and New Zealand Festival of Motor Racing-Bruce McLaren meetings in January, and the Victorian Historic Racing Register (VHRR) classic meeting at Phillip Island over the March 20-21 weekend.
Also on the support roster for the 2010 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix event are rounds of the Australian GT, Australian Formula Ford and Australian MINI Challenge championships, as well as a special Challenge for Australia’s popular V8 Supercar series.
A special Historic Demonstration category – the theme this year is the Celebration of Italian Motorsport – will also mark the 100th anniversary of Alfa Romeo.
The MSC F5000 Tasman Cup Revival Series is organised and run with the support of sponsors MSC, NZ Express Transport, Bonney’s Specialised Bulk Transport, Pacifica, Toll Holdings, Smith & Davies and Avon Tyres.
